Success Planning
Connect outcomes, adoption, milestones, owners, risks and value evidence in one joint plan.
A success plan is a shared operating agreement for achieving customer outcomes. It connects what matters to the customer with the work required from both organizations. It should remain useful between meetings and adapt when priorities or evidence change.
Put it into practice
Start with the agreed outcome and its customer owner. Add the baseline, target and value-validation method before listing tasks.
Work backward into adoption behaviors, implementation dependencies and milestones. Give each commitment an owner and due date.
Review progress through evidence and decisions. Record changes, unresolved risks and the next customer checkpoint.
What good evidence looks like
A jointly reviewed plan with customer and provider owners, milestones, adoption measures and value checkpoints.
WATCH FOR
A common failure mode
Using a provider-only task tracker as the success plan, or treating the plan as complete once it is signed.
What to measure
Milestones achieved on time, outcome progress and the age of unresolved dependencies.
